Who in heck am I?

A wannabe know-it-all, who reads too much and needs an outlet to get it all off and is not sure if this is the way to go, but what the hey.

I've been in advertising since 2000. Started out in traditional advertising but made a move to digital in 2006.

I wouldn't say I'm an expert but I'd like to think that I have a 'Public Joe' perspective on things. Besides, being expert on stuff means using fancy words and I don't like doing that because those mumbo-jumbo jargons serves only to impress, manipulate and confuse.


Why the blog name?

Biz 'coz it's short form for business and in the culture of IM and text messaging, short forms are in vogue.

Mktg 'coz it's short form for marketing and...pretty much the same reason as above.

As topics, business and marketing are what I'm interested in although let me qualify...the looking at figures part is not my forte.

Rag because it means...(definitions courtesy of Dictionary.com)

  1. It's a worthless piece of cloth 
  2. any article of apparel regarded deprecatingly or self-deprecatingly 
  3. a shred, scrap, or fragmentary bit of anything 
  4. slang for newspaper 
But the thing about rags is that it sometimes has its uses, like wiping off dirt to make the surface clean or clear.

At that's what I want to do with this blog. To get clear on stuff.
